Prior Program Development and Management Achievements Include

  • Nonprofit Assessments:

    • With NeighborWorks America, provided 88 contracted capacity assessments of organizations across the U.S., promoting sustainability. Sustainable Orgs takes this approach to the next level, responding directly to the needs of community-based organizations.

    • Managed assessments of 46 nonprofits that applied for NeighborWorks affiliation, including many of its largest, most complex affiliates.

  • Community Reinvestment

    • As CRA Officer for over a decade, established a Houston-based regional bank as a Texas community development leader, achieving top ratings and awards.

    • Developed a high performing affordable mortgage loan product serving over 1,000 low/mod homebuyers in Texas, providing down payment assistance grants and home buyer education.

  • Volunteer Home Repair

    • Developed and directed large volunteer program that in six years painted and repaired over 700 homes owned by low-income elderly or disabled people in targeted Houston neighborhoods. The initiative continues to thrive now as one of the largest programs of its kind.

  • LISC Houston

    • Brought LISC to Houston in 1985, leveraging corporate support to help establish their local presence as a key catalyst and support system for community-based development, continuing today.
